Our history: 180 years of experience

1845 – The foundations of excellence
Félix Richard designed the first metal barometer in Paris and founded the company Jules Richard Instruments. This innovation marked the beginning of our expertise in high-precision measuring instruments.

2008 – The wireless era
Launch of the SPY RF range, a vast collection of wireless data loggers that revolutionise temperature monitoring by eliminating wiring constraints.

2010 – A forerunner in connected technology
JRI is in the vanguard with SiriusWeb, the first connected temperature and energy consumption tracking system, heralding the era of industrial IoT.

2011 – Metrological recognition
The Fesches-le-Châtel metrology laboratory obtained COFRAC temperature accreditation (no. 2-1943), confirming our scientific expertise, which is recognised by the French government.

2013 – Innovation and mobility
Triple technological breakthrough: launch of the Lab’express (mobile extension of our laboratory), development of 4th generation digital probes, and obtaining COFRAC accreditation for thermal mapping testing activities (n°1-2471).

2015 – Strategic integration
JRI joins the Metrology and Monitoring Solutions (MMS) group, accelerating our international development and our transition towards connected sensors and advanced metrology services.

2017 – Sector reinforcement
CIET, a specialist in metrology, qualification, validation and cryogenics for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors, joins the MMS Group, completing our range of services.

2018IoT Revolution
Launch of the JRI MySirius solution: a complete ecosystem made up of wireless Nano SPY mini loggers and LoRa SPY sensors connected to the LoRaWAN network. The MySirius web application offers personalised data management for each user.

2019 – Extended metrological excellence
The laboratory obtains a major extension of its COFRAC accreditation: (Equivalent ILAC Accreditation)

2020 – Transport and geolocation expertise
NAOCOM, an expert in temperature traceability and geolocation, is joining the MMS Group to accelerate our development in cold chain monitoring during transport.

2021 – Continuity and evolution
JRI integrates LABGUARD 3D equipment into the MySirius solution, guaranteeing the continuity of existing customer processes.

2024 – Strengthening CSR
Acceleration of our CSR approach, supported by the Executive Committee with a dedicated person and an employee awareness programme.
